The farm house

It used to be called "La Fonte" and the road it is on "Via di Porto a Brolio". A house built on the top of a hill between the end of the XIX century and the beginning of the XX to host entire families of farmers who used to work in the fields for the drainage programme started by Leopold II. Before that the Valdichiana was an important waterway used by large and small boats either fishing or shipping goods towards the Arno. In some places it is still possible to find the rings to which the boats used to be moored.

The road crossing the plain towards Cortona is dotted with isolated rural houses, some of which were the property of the Sovereign Military Order of Malta and which therefore date back to the period before the land reclamation of Leopold II. I chose one of these houses because it represents the life style and work which are the basis of our culture.

Here I live with my three children and here I am glad to welcome my guests as friends.

The farm house, renovated with care and respect for the original features, has been reconverted into apartments and rooms for relaxing holidays. It has a large garden with two swimming pools and is situated in an ideal position, not too far from the main tourist attractions: Siena, Arezzo, Perugia, Cortona, Montepulciano, all towns rich in history and art with regular cultural events (concerts, art exhibitions, theatre, traditional shows).
